The Butterfly Foundation (TBF237) was born from the institutional reform of Cabinet M&M Consulting sarl. Indeed, at the end of 2020, the shareholders and directors of Cabinet M&M Consulting sarl made the decision to transform their activities in terms of supporting adolescents and families into non-profit interventions.
This decision was motivated by several factors including:
Exclusion of vulnerable groups : in fact, given the requirement for profitability of the approach undertaken, many young people mainly from vulnerable social groups could not access the services offered by the Firm given the cost at which they were offered
Stimulate youth participation in the processes that concern them: in order to better support young people, it is important that they take part in the design and implementation of initiatives in their favor. From this point of view, it was important to adopt an administrative form favoring the participation of different actors in decision-making. On the other hand, the corporate form only includes shareholders at the decision-making table.
Connect with the main stakeholders in the youth and family sector : in fact, the vast majority of actors involved in issues concerning youth and the family are associative organizations. From this point of view, the company form is less appropriate because in the collective imagination, the company only aims to make money, even if it means excluding certain categories who cannot purchase the services it offers.
Access sponsorship : in fact, the corporate form does not allow the support of sponsors and patrons to be solicited, the founding members opted for a legal form which authorizes the institution to solicit the support of these categories of actors.
From 2020, The Butterfly Foundation association has carried out numerous activities, but it was only in April 2023 that it was able to obtain its association declaration receipt from the prefecture of the Mfoundi department in Yaoundé.
Our Vision is to see “adolescents who are balanced in their personality, with a clear vision of the future in harmony with their predispositions and qualities and committed to positively influencing those around them”.
For this our Mission as an organization is structured around 3 strategic areas of intervention:
